Info

The initial problem of maintaining a large-scale B2B website, with a wide variety of brands (105 licenses), sections and products, was coordinating the sources of information. The way data was uploaded on WooCommerce and the hierarchy of products and sections on the website was definitely the principal problem to solve.

Social tasks:

  • Calling every department to make sure that every product package was correct before every pre-sale.
  • Overseeing the development of a team of freelance programmers in terms of new features, scripts, plugins and updates to the website.
  • Organising information from 4 data analysts, in terms of WooCommerce .csv formats for import/export of products.

Technical tasks:

  • Creating templates in Figma for each new page proposal.
  • Developing each approved page in Wp Bakery, in the WordPress environment.
  • Creating and modifying templates for WooCommerce ( Using the Import / Export .csv tool ).
  • Updating .PHP custom website scripts.
  • Maintain, reboot and monitor the AWS Lightsail server using Plesk Manager.
  • Updating Child-Theme changes on the platform.

My day-to-day job was to organise the work of 4 colleagues (4 data analysts and two additional freelancers developers) to keep the website ready for each pre-sale. When working on a large platform, it is not only about keeping the system fast and clean, but also about keeping the product information, images, content and everything else ready and updated for the end customer. My job required both social skills and technical skills to get each pre-sale ready on time.

Working in a startup can be a bit tedious at first, and with so many licenses and products to receive this information from the different design departments, organisation was a key issue. It's not enough to just have knowledge and technical skills to keep the website afloat in every pre-sale, I consider that I gained knowledge and put my skills to the fullest in this experience.I enjoyed working on it, definitely a challenge I would like to repeat.
